Welcome to Clear Creek Kayak Co. a family-ran, women and veteran owned, kayak rental business based right on the peaceful shores of the Atchison County Lake. Whether you’re looking for a solo ride to unwind or a ride to share with friends, we offer single-person and tandem kayaks, perfect for a fun and relaxing weekend on the water.

Taking reservations Friday through Sunday all summer long, rentals are available through our online reservation system. Each rental includes paddles, life vests, and a quick safety brief to get you out on the water safely and confidently.

FAQ

Essential guide to kayak rentals for your water adventures.

  • We’re open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, with time slots from 8:00am-8:00pm, weather permitting, from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

    Reservations outside of this window may be made by contacting us.

  • All reservations are made online through our website. Simply select your preferred date and time. Select "Kayak Availability" to find the available kayaks for the selected time. Then follow the checkout process. A 50% security deposit is required at booking, cancellation policy listed below. You’ll receive a confirmation email once your booking is complete.

  • We currently offer:

    Single-person kayaks (275lb weight limit)

    Tandem (two-person) kayaks (425lb weight limit)

    Each rental includes paddles and life jackets.

  • Once your reservation is confirmed, we’ll email you detailed instructions for check-in and where to meet us at the Atchison County Lake.

  • For a safe and enjoyable kayaking outing, consider packing the following essentials: wear quick-drying clothing appropriate for the weather and avoid cotton as it holds moisture. Protect yourself from the sun with sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat, even on cloudy days. Bring along water and snacks to stay hydrated and energized. Use a waterproof bag to keep your valuables like phones and personal items dry.

  • Yes. Every participant is required to sign a liability waiver before heading out on the water. A link will be provided after booking or can be signed on-site.

  • Participants must be at least 10 years old to paddle solo. Children under 10 must ride with an adult in a tandem kayak and wear a life jacket at all times.

  • We offer full refunds for cancellations made at least 24 hours in advance. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance or no-shows will be charged 50% deposit made at booking.

    Weather related cancellations will have the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

  • At this time, we do not allow pets in the kayaks for safety and cleanliness reasons.

  • Your safety comes first. If we have to cancel due to weather (high winds, lightning, storms), you’ll be notified as early as possible and given the option to reschedule or receive a refund.
